OnePlus is loved by the tech community. It is mainly because the company doesn’t hold back from providing impressive spec sheet at a reasonable price. OnePlus phones are really great devices to have and a lot of people get these devices for impressive specs. The new OnePlus 7 is just around the corner and people from all walks of life are looking forward to getting the phone in their pockets as soon as possible.
There have been a lot of leaks about the phone and rumours have been circulating about what to expect from the phone. There are also many photo leaks and the leaks about the specs as well. The tech community has also guessed the priced judging from the specs so, without any further ado let us individually analyze each part of the leak and see if the phone delivers on these fronts.
It is rumoured that the OnePlus 7 will come with a 6.5-inch bezel-less display with a pop-up selfie camera. The display could be an OLED panel with FHD+ resolution. The primary camera with a 48 MP Sensor and there will be a 4000 mAh battery. These specs are not confirmed. We don’t know if the camera is a native 48 MP camera because of the lack of information about the processor hich might be the top end Snapdragon 855. One thing that has been leaked is that the display is not 60 Hz, it is 90 Hz. What does it mean? It means that gaming will be as smooth as butter. Another leak that has surfaced is the availability of a pro version that will support a 1440p display. It will also rock dual speakers for impressive sound quality.
There also has been a lot of rumours about the storage capacity and storage media of the phone. Recent leaks have suggested that the OnePlus 7 is going to start at 128 GB of Storage and a higher-tier version of the phone will come at 256 GB. There will probably not be an option for the expandable storage though.
The Pro version will also start at 128 GB and I think that it will go up to 512 GB. We will see that when the phone releases. One way to differentiate the two versions is to provide something extra to the pro version. I strongly guess that the OnePlus 7 pro will have UFS 3.0 storage. This storage medium will be a deciding factor between the two devices. The pro version of the OnePlus could well be the only second phone to implement the UFS 3.0 storage after Samsung.
There are many leaked images on the internet and if those leaks are true, we expect the OnePlus 7 to come with an all-glass design. This is the same as the OnePlus 6T. There will probably be a glass back because wireless charging may not be available to the device. We do expect an aluminium midframe here that adds a premium feel to the device. The design will see the return of the alert slider. Basic volume rockers and power button will definitely be available. Regarding the headphone jack, there is no news but I guess it won’t be available. As far as the design is concerned, the phone basically has a glass build with aluminium frame and there are three finishes; blue, grey and brown.
OnePlus officially announced the launch date of the OnePlus 7. According to the company, the event is scheduled to be on May 14. The event is scheduled to be held into 4 countries; India, China, US and the UK. There hasn’t been any word as far as the official release date of the actual phone is concerned. It has been guessed that the phone will be available by May 21.
OnePlus has always been the company to provide the most reasonable pricing on their smartphones. Every year, we get something new from the brand with really affordable pricing. Our expectations are always high with OnePlus and it looks like the company is going to do some major upgrades this year. The gap between a flagship and a mid-end phone has been increasing lately and OnePlus looks to be the reason behind it. We think that the price of the smartphone will increase from OnePlus Six but the increment will only be around 50 dollars.
For a phone that comes with a pop-up camera, 3 back cameras, a large battery and improved fingerprint sensors, OnePlus may not be able to go any cheaper than 629 to 649 dollars. Similarly, the pro version will probably cost around 700 to 730 dollars. There have been other rumours surrounding the price as well. One source claims that the phone will come at a jaw-dropping price point of 570 $ which is of great value. If this speculation is true, then the phone will undoubtedly be the best phone at this price segment. In the United States, the phone also has a partnership with T-Mobile. What does it mean? Well, if the partnership is a genuine one, the phone will have a lower price tag which is a huge bonus.
